I stopped to doing that few years ago and try to not treat new year as a completely new beginning, but more something like a chapter in the book. Why? Because I know resolutions often do not have sense and have only minimal chances of success. Scrum: walking the Kanban board

Scrum can be boring but can be also interesting and nice experience for people. It depends how we will use it and what will be our goals. Without good understanding by team members, it will be not possible to work efficiency using Scrum framework. One of possible improvement is walking the Kanban board – of course it can be applied only if we use Scrum with Kanban at the same time. It is not required, and Kanban is not a part of Scrum, so remember about that. You can treat this idea also as extension of facilitator rotation I have described last weeks. Database migration – do not trust framework

In theory working with different databases is not a big problem, because framework can handle everything for you. In real world scenarios, there a lot of strange caveats. Last month’s my team works with huge and extraordinarily complex database migration. Process looked and something impossible, but “mission impossible” is exactly something for us. But of course, not challenge itself was the most important in this situation. Thanks to this migration we learned a lot and after we are much more cautious when we work with databases, especially when we use some backend frameworks.
